Double Entry Journal- A SDAIE Strategy for ELL students that will use key words and pictures as a journal entry to help students understand the content.

A Double Entry Journal is a two column journal. In the left column, students write a piece of information. In the right column, students relate to or analyze the information on the left.

Students can use double entry journals to:
  • study concepts or vocabulary
  • express opinions
  • justify an opinion using text
  • understand or respond to the text they are reading
